From November 26th to 29th, the 4th International Carbon Materials Conference and Industry Exhibition 5G Era Diamond Innovation Application Forum was successfully held in Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Center for International Sourcing. One, diamond semiconductor is ready to go

At present, the landing of 5G technology has set off a new round of industry development boom for third-generation semiconductors such as SiC and GaN. With the maturity of 5G technology and the expansion of application scenarios, wide-bandgap semiconductor materials will be widely used in power electronics, new energy vehicles, photovoltaics, rail transit, and microwave communication devices. Diamond semiconductors with wider band gaps are receiving more and more attention. In the mid-to-late 5G era, diamond as a semiconductor may usher in a highlight moment of its great power. At present, due to the existence of various defects, the preparation of diamond semiconductors has not played its due role. As an ideal material for the next generation of semiconductors, relevant experts and teams at home and abroad are engaged in diamond semiconductor doping, power density improvement, surface treatment, and production equipment. Research has been carried out in many aspects such as design, and many new developments have been made. In the next few years, the market growth rate of wide-bandgap semiconductors will be around 22%, and its market value will be approximately US$3 billion in 2027, of which diamond semiconductors will account for about 10% of the market.
